Saving on Hotel costs is not hard to do in Sin City. In any other city if I gave you the choice between a dollar motel room and a dollar hotel room, you would be right to say that the room is a better deal, but not in Las Vegas. The big hotels on the strip are always giving away promotions, where the small motels without casinos cannot. If your planning on staying in Vegas you have to take advantage of all the freebies. Hotels usually include discount coupons or other promotions that will apply to dinners, breakfasts, lunches, or shows. Also another thing to thing to consider is the cost of staying off the strip. The Best Places to Shop in Las Vegas

Best Las Vegas Hotels

While Las Vegas might be known for the gambling and casinos, you can't look past all of the shopping choices available to the traveler in Vegas. There are plenty of places to go shopping in Las Vegas, and though you might lose some money in the shops - at least you'll have something to take home with you - something the blackjack table might forget to do.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

The Strip has a ton of shopping options for you. Most of the mega-resort casinos have some sort of shopping mall connected to their casinos.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Caesar's Palace has the Forum Shops connected to the casino. It's a popular place for tourists and locals alike to hang out, grab a bite to eat or shop. Store include everything from GapKids and Guess? to Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Burberry among it's 150 shops. Restaurants include the popular Planet Hollywood and the Cheesecake Factory. Or if you're looking for something a little different you can get sushi at Sushi Roku or try Wolfgang Puck's Spago. There are shops for everyone here, or you it's a good place to people watch or check out the fountain shows.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Across the street from the Forum Shops are the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. This gigantic mall has canals with gondolas just like the city of Venice. you can stroll the cobblestone streets or hitch a ride in one of the gondolas. Either way, there are a ton of shops and restaurants to enjoy as well as numerous street performers throughout the mall. One of the neat things about the Grand Canal Shoppes is that the ceiling is painted like and lit like the sky - so along with the canals it almost feels like you are strolling the streets of Venice.

If you're playing Paris Hilton for a day and feel as though the Gap, Anthropologie, and similar stores are below you, head over to the Wynn or the Bellagio. The stores in these spots are definately for the shopper who doesn't care. At these spots you'll find Chanel, Christian Dior, Manolo Blahnik as well as a bunch of other stores named after French guys with names that are hard to pronounce. And don't stop at clothing, in the Wynn be sure to stop at the Ferrari Maserati dealership located in the casino.

Fashion Show Mall is located on the corner of Spring Mountain and Las Vegas Blvd. (the Strip). This mall located in the middle of the strip is like any other mall with hundreds of stores to choose from. The only difference is that, well, there's a fashion show at various times throughout the day. You've seen them on t.v., the models strutting down walkways - well now you can see it live. Not only that, but the Fashion Show Mall is a great place to stop and rest and take a break from the heat if you're hiking the strip.

Not too far from the strip are two outlet malls - both of which you can catch shuttles to from numerous casinos and hotels. The Las Vegas Premium Outlets are located north of the strip, close to downtown. This outlet mall contains your standard outlet mall fare - Polo, Calvin Klein, Ann Taylor. This is an outdoor mall - so it's a little tough in the hottest months, but extremely pleasant during the winter, spring, and fall months. The other outlet center, called Las Vegas Outlet Center is located south on Las Vegas Blvd. and is completely indoors. Again - standard outlet mall fare includes Coach, Addidas, and Tommy Hilfiger. There is also a giant carousel that the kiddies might enjoy.

Come to Las Vegas and get your gamble on - but don't forget to save a few chips, time, and energy for the many shopping experiences that Sin City has to offer.

Las Vegas Hotels With the Best Family Oriented Pools

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Every year my boys can't wait for our annual family Vegas vacation. This year it will be our 7th year. Lots of people disagree that Vegas is a good place for families with children, but we love it. My husband and I are not gamblers or drinkers and we truly enjoy spending our free time with our two boys.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Las Vegas has so much to offer beside the gambling and the nightlife. Every year there is more stuff to see and experience.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

We usually visit Las Vegas every September right after Labor Day weekend. The weather is great and we can't wait to lounge by the pool sipping cold drinks. We always pick a hotel with the best pool that is family friendly and we won't get dirty looks by bringing our boys down. The top 3 picks of our family are The MGM Grand, The Monte Carlo and The Mirage.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

#1 The MGM Grand
The MGM Grand has an amazing pool complex. In my opinion one of the best in Vegas. You feel like you entered an exotic paradise with lots of lush greenery, beautiful flowers, fountains and little island connected with bridges. This massive over 6 acre paradise offers 5 swimming pools, 3 whirlpools and lazy river. The lazy river was a hit with my family. It floats under bridges, through waterfalls and ends in a little Lagoon with waterfall which is perfect wading pool for babies and little ones.

I must admit this paradise has a few drawbacks. One of the drawbacks is that you need to rent a tube or a raft to truly experience the lazy river . I believe the rental is per tube per day. The MGM Grand is known to run special promotions where you can get the rental cheaper, free or 2 for 1. Before you book your room you should check out websites with coupons for MGM (just go to Google and type coupons MGM Las Vegas in to the search - early vegas is a good one). The second drawback is that the pool complex is located quite far from the guest elevators. You need to walk through the promenade with stores and restaurants to get to the pool, but the walk is well worth it.

#2 The Monte Carlo
The Monte Carlo pool is much smaller in comparison to the pool complex at The Grand , but we enjoyed it regardless. They are kids friendly and that's all that matters.

The Monte Carlo offers 3 swimming pools, whirlpool and kids pool. If you are visiting Las Vegas with little kids you will love the enclosed kiddie pool with kids size beach chairs. The wave pool with 3ft waves was designed to simulate the ocean and is a blast for the whole family. If you want to have a swim then try the Lagoon pool. It is a nice and relaxing square pool with a waterfall. My favorite was the relaxing 400 feet of Easy River Ride. There is a tube rental as well, but you can purchase a tube inside their beach shop for around .00 and the rental shop will even blow it up for you. This is a real money saver for larger families or longer stay like us. After you done with it , why not pass the tube onto a new family.

#3 The Mirage
The pool at the Mirage is a series of pools connected by bridges and lagoons with cascading waterfalls in tropical setting. They used to have a waterslide , but to a big disappointment of my children they closed it down. They offer raft rental to float around, but we never needed one. You can ask for complimentary life jackets for children. The pool is located close to the guest elevators just down a little promenade with few stores, coffee bistro and ice cream shop. If you will decide to order a drink take my advice and order small size. If you don't specify they will bring you a huge drink with even bigger price tag.

Just a tip: Most of the pools in Vegas say that you are not allowed to save lounge chairs at the pool, but everybody does it. If you don't you won't get a good spot because hundreds of people before you ignored the rule. Live and Learn.

Enjoy Las Vegas with Kids.

Stay tuned for more articles about family friendly Las Vegas.

The Newest Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip - The Aria

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Let me start by saying that I have no financial interest or do I need to work in any way Air. I am only one person, the configuration file has been offered to visit.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

What a wonderful place. Outdoors in mid-December 2009 and comprises 61 floors with 4000 rooms and is located in the center of the city, a city of 67 acres in a town on the tape. The Air has eighteen restaurants, nightclubs and halls, a theater showroom, which can accommodate up to 1850 guests, shopping malls, which is incredible, a bankCentral, state of the art fitness center, lounge, some of the most beautiful waterfalls and four pools. It has its own tram, which connects to the Bellagio and Monte Carlo. The Air is the world-famous art artists from around the world. The difference with this art to other casinos on the Strip than most other casinos collections of art, "some specific areas are included, but the world-class art is everywhere in the air for all guests. The air is some of the new " World ", City Center, a massive commitment on the Strip in Las Vegas. There are many other buildings in the city center, offering services for all those who visit or reside in the city center, which is just a building. This control is in the hotel room to concentrate, but I wanted to put a background for this review.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

As we entered the hotel, we did not know what to expect, but we have an idea of what should be there, because we'd been to Las> Vegas Strip for many years and we were in most major casinos.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

We entered the Air. It was huge and full of marble and stone with a New Age decor. The simplicity of the New Age seems to be the dominant theme of 'hotel-casino. We had the key to our room on the 37 th floor, where and when we opened the door, we did laugh! The door opened, the curtains open automatically started to have a fantastic view of the tape and view of the mountains, the TV came on a reboundchannel, the heat turned on to reach the optimum comfort zone, and the lights turned on. Now you have to remember, this was done just by opening the door.

Everything in the room could be controlled by the remote control or by the control next to the bed that displayed on the flat screen TV. You did not have to get out of bed to do anything except shower and go to the bathroom and I was looking for how they possibly accomplished that - just kidding! Again, the room was dressed in new-age simplicity with the size of the room comfortable for two people. The bathroom was beautiful with a tub set to the side of the shower in the same enclosure.

The room was cleaned everyday but only if you turned on the sign on the outside of your door - of course, controlled by the remote that displayed on the TV. Now why is this important? Have you ever been to a hotel room where the housekeeping knocks on your door, yells "housekeeping" or worse yells out and then walks in? Won't happen at The Aria. When you are ready to have your room cleaned, you notify them. The bed was "turned down" every night with chocolates by the bedside.

I cannot begin to tell you how friendly the employees were throughout our stay at The Aria. As I stated before, we have stayed at almost every casino on the strip and The Aria staff were beyond compare with how helpful and friendly they were. Not once did I ask a question that the staff did not have a helpful answer to and actually appeared pleased to answer.

Now the important part of the stay - gambling. I have had a firm belief that new casinos did not pay well for your gambling efforts because they had to start paying for all the money invested in building the beautiful casino so I am always a little leery of gambling. To my surprise, I won a reasonable amount of money on the slots! Beautiful room, beautiful hotel-casino and friendly staff - what more could you ask for?

By now you are wondering if there is anything I did not like. Well, yes there was. The Aria is difficult to find. We drove up to what we thought was the front of The Aria but it was not the front of the hotel and because it was not the front of the hotel, there was no baggage service. The Aria oozes up-scale and needs to have bell-men at every entry. Other than that little detail, nothing to report that was negative and trust me I am always on the lookout for things that are wrong. Hard time with this hotel-casino.

I do not think I need to tell you I would recommend The Aria to have a fun, beautiful place to escape to for a few days. How do you get offers for comps? If and when you go to Las Vegas, use the cards they give you to play with. They track how much you spend and no, you do not have to spend a lot to get comps. They really do get you great bargains. Enjoy your stay at The Aria, I know we did and we will go back.

MGM Grand Buffet in Las Vegas - The Truth About This Vegas Buffet

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Ok, it's time to tell the truth. We like this particular hotel and casino (even the spa fitness). The rooms are of good quality for the price. However, surprisingly, the food is incredibly short.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

We ate an all-you-can rate several times to be surprised with the hope that the renewed determination to find customers truly gourmet. But every time we have clearly disappointed, above all, quality. I do not want youHere you will find horrible things, but what you will eat here just do not like anything you want to pay for the taste when it was significantly reduced (which is not).

Best Las Vegas Hotels

In essence, you will find everything you expect little, the quantity is not the problem, and to a lesser extent, is still the issue of diversity. The problem is that, while bland, tasteless, prepared by those who are not heads or simply love food. Most dishes are prepared simply and in some caseswith fewer degrees of ingredients.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

There are also other media (or less) to evaluate the quality of all-you-can-eat in Las Vegas, no doubt, but what they offer free or at a much lower price. And why this resort whose beauty and casino food so disappointing?

Overall, then, collectively, we recommend eating here if you have special coupons for him, or a stay in this hotel and casino great (if you could eat herefree as part of pre-paid package) or good, or has been offered a 2 for 1 option.

As the courts by the middle of each side, unless the price is low (and its standard price is too low to be able to eat here), we can not simply recommend eating an average all-you-can eat type food (and the average write generous here).

Buffet media are not the reasons why we go to Las Vegas, in our opinion. Our opinion isthat they must be exceptional in one way or the other; if not they must offer, at the very least, great value for money. Some of them do; after all, not everybody wants gourmet food, as long as what's offered is cheap!

So, if you don't have coupons or have no idea how to obtain a discounted price for this or other all-you-can-eat outlets, you may wish to read a guide on how to EAT AFFORDABLY IN VEGAS. And, if you want to know where the food is truly exceptionally good, as well as where it's exceptionally cheap, you may want to check the guide to the BEST and CHEAPEST VEGAS BUFFETS. This way, when you go to Vegas, you will have a taste feast!

Bellagio Las Vegas Hotel Review

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Our Review of the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas

Best Las Vegas Hotels

The Bellagio, inspired by the resort on lake Como in Italy, must be one of the world's most recognizable hotels - its fountains and Tuscan design have made it a Las Vegas landmark. Conceived by Steve Wynn, it was the most expensive hotel ever built when it opened in 1998, and set the stage for a spate of ultra-luxury Las Vegas resorts that arrived over the next decade.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

The Bellagio's main attraction is its breathtaking dancing fountains. We can almost guarantee that you will come back to see them several times during your trip, even if you are staying at a different hotel. Set in a nine acre lake, the 1,200 nozzles and 4,500 lights create an awe-inspiring spectacle - the water dancing to anything from opera to modern classics and reaching up to 460 feet in height.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

The lobby and public areas are styled in elegant Italian fashion, including vast amounts of marble and decorative ornaments. The Bellagio manages to maintain a classy style throughout, and if it wasn't for its large casino it would look more like a European resort than a large Las Vegas hotel.

Accommodation

You will not be surprised to hear that guest rooms at the Bellagio are designed with a demanding customer in mind - they are all elegantly appointed and give a real feeling of luxury. The beds are very comfortable and the linen and towels are some of the best you will find in Las Vegas. You will pay a bit more for a Lake view Room, which in our opinion is well worth the money. You can tune in to the hotel's own television channel, Fountain TV, to listen to the music the fountains are dancing to just outside your window.

Room amenities are of a high standard, including toiletries and plush bathrobes, and you will find an Italian marble bath with soaking tub, glass enclosed shower and sink in every room. For slightly larger budgets, the Bellagio offers suites ranging up to an astonishing 4,100 sq.ft which boasts a private solarium, verdant indoor garden and fountain, fireplace, and L-shaped bar.

Overall, we found the rooms to be warm and well appointed, although at 510 sq. ft. for a standard room, you will find more spacious accommodation elsewhere on the Strip with a similar budget. Room rates are in line with the other luxury hotels on the Strip, and special promotions throughout the year offer good value for money.

Dining & Entertainment

The hotel features an impressive list of upscale dining options, including Prime (our favorite steak on the Strip!), Circo for Tuscan specialties, and the two Michelin starred Picasso. Several restaurants offer lake view dining, which makes for unforgettable experience. There are plenty of casual dining options as well, and almost all of them have a unique and pleasant atmosphere offering excellent food and service to match. If you just want a drink, the Bellagio offers an array of bars and cafes spread across the resort. We recommend the Fontana bar - ask for a seat on the terrace and watch the fountains while enjoying one of the signature cocktails.

The Bank nightclub is one of the largest and most popular on the strip. Make sure to get there early or expect to stand in line for a long time! If you prefer quieter surroundings, Caramel lounge bar is the place to be, offering amazing cocktails and a relaxing ambiance.

Resident show "O" by Cirque du Soleil is one of our favorite productions on the Strip - the incredible set, acrobatic performances and gripping music will have you on the edge of your seat. It is an experience not to be missed.

Pool & Spa

The Bellagio features 5 outdoor pools, two of which are heated throughout the winter. They are perhaps the most attractive on the Strip, and create a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. Set in a Roman garden, it feels like a real getaway from the hustle and bustle of the Strip, and it's a great spot to wind down after a day out, or just to soak up the Vegas sun.

Like all major Las Vegas resorts Bellagio features a large Health Club offering treatments, relaxation rooms, plunge pools and saunas. Treatments are pricey, and the club could do with an upgrade if it wants to compete with the newer upscale resorts on the Strip. A pass will give you all-day access to the gym and Health Club.

Casino

The casino was updated in 2006, and offers a pleasant gaming experience. Drinks service is good and there are plenty of games to play, including over 2,300 slot machines! We found the dealers and attendants to be friendly and attentive. Don't expect to find low-limit tables at the Bellagio - blackjack tables are hard to find during busy periods, and daily poker tournaments start at buy-ins of 0 USD. Many poker players call the Bellagio their second home, so expect to find tough competition at the tables.

If you are playing, be sure to try the champagne cocktails!

Our Verdict - *****

A world-class resort with an incredible amount of fine dining options and entertainment. The Ballagio is still managing very well as a leading Strip resort. The comfortable rooms and pool area really allow you to get away from it all, while entertainment is never far away.

Titanic Exhibit at Las Vegas

Best Las Vegas Hotels

In Las Vegas, a popular exhibit brings the unfortunate story of Titanic to life. It is called the Titanic Exhibit at Luxor Hotel Las Vegas. There are over one thousand five hundred lives lost. Allow us to take you back in time.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

The full name of the gigantic ship is RMS Titanic, but people simply call the ship as Titanic. It is a passenger ship that carries more than 3,500 with passenger and crew in total. The crew accounts for 885. There are 840 staterooms (416 First Class, 162 Second Class, and 262 Third Class Staterooms).

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Harland and Wolff in Belfast, Ireland finished the construction of the ship with a length of 882 feet on March 31, 1912. So, the Titanic is the largest passenger steamship in the world. Today, the length is still comparable to current length of cruise ships. With the length and size, the Titanic built an unsinkable image.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

On 10th of April 1912, the ship sets for sail from Southampton, England to New York, USA with 2,223 passengers. After four days of sailing, the ship hits an iceberg at 11:40pm on 14th of April 1912. Eventually, the ship sank at 2:00 am the next morning. Even though the ship followed the proper procedures of the time, the ship carried lifeboats for 1,178 passengers only. As a result, the 1,517 passengers and crews perished. The unfortunate accident made headlines. It is probably the worst maritime accident of all time.

Today, the visitors of Las Vegas come to Luxor Hotel Las Vegas to get close on what really happen. The visitors are given a boarding pass as the visitors enter the exhibit. The name of the visitors is printed on the boarding pass as if the visitors boarded the ship on April 1912.

The visitors walk from third class staterooms to first class staterooms. On the way, the visitors will see the huge disparity between the third class staterooms and first class staterooms. The first class staterooms were more fabulous than any hotel room of the time.

The exhibit includes replicas. Any visitors will probably remember the grand staircase in the Titanic the Movie. In the exhibit, the visitors will see the same replica in real life. The stairs will bring back bits and pieces of the different scenes on the movie.

In the exhibit, the visitors can touch an iceberg to get an idea of the extreme cold temperature of the ocean where the ship sank. Most of the passengers died from hypothermia not from drowning. Due to the cold ocean temperature, the body stops to function. It does not matter how good of a swimmer. Hypothermia sets in pretty quickly.

The wreckage was discovered in 1985. Some artifacts were brought up. There are over 300 artifacts from the wreckage like Silverware, Jewelry, and China. Incredibly, the hull of the ship was recovered. It is probably the largest ever recovered. It weighs 15 tons. It is as much as 26 feet wide.

Visit the Las Vegas Hotels Price Comparison website in which anyone can compare from many travel website with a simple click of a button. There are reviews, photos, descriptions, maps, attractions, and amenities information. Come see the exhibit while you still can. The exhibit will be on until 2018.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

History of the Mirage

Best Las Vegas Hotels

It's not a stretch of the imagination to say that the Mirage revived a struggling Las Vegas. Tourism to Las Vegas was on the decline since the 1970's. This was around the time that Atlantic City began snatching up many of the country's east coast gamblers. Las Vegas just didn't have the fashionable, high-class reputation that it had in decades prior. But the Mirage, which was the most expensive hotel at the time of its construction, soon revamped Vegas.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Built by developer and mogul Steve Wynn, The Mirage opened its doors in 1989. It was met with rave reviews about the stunning architecture and plush rooms. The hotel has a fun French Polynesia theme, a staggering 3,044 rooms, and 100,000 square feet of gaming space. The Mirage has become a Las Vegas icon with its distinctive gold windows and the largest free standing marquee in the world.

Rooms in the Mirage

The rooms at the Mirage are just what you would expect from this iconic resort. The hotel rooms are elegantly decorate, ultra-modern, and a perfect haven for relaxation. The Guest Suites provide a little extra extravagance-with huge LCD TVs in the bathrooms, decks, hydrotherapy tubs, and much more. The Villas at the Mirage are opulence at its best. You'll be treated like royalty with the best rooms Vegas has to offer, plus you will enjoy your own private back yard at the Mirage!

Attractions of the Mirage

The Mirage is home to many exciting attractions that can't be missed on your Vegas vacation. Most famous is the volcano outside of the resort that erupts every hour from 5-11 in the evening, weather permitting. Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is where you can get so close as to nearly touch white lions, white tigers, leopards, panthers, and dolphins.

The atrium inside the front entrance is like stepping inside a rain forest. Palm trees, orchids, and other exotic tropical flora fill the space. You will swear that you are in the Amazon Rainforest, not the Mirage in Las Vegas! Finally, the aquarium in the lobby is one of the most technologically advanced fish habitats in the world. Home to nearly one thousand sea creatures, it's a complete undersea experience.

The Mirage is home to two permanent shows. Love is a Cirque du Soleil production that combines the timeless music of the Beatles with exciting and contemporary circus feats. Terry Fator, a ventriloquist, is currently enjoying a five-year headlining run at the prestigious resort. An exclusive Cirque du Soleil show featuring the music of Michael Jackson is expected to open at the Mirage in 2012. This show is sure to continue the Mirage's tradition of being an iconic and trend-setting fixture of Las Vegas.

Now that you've read all that the Mirage has to offer, you must be itching to book that Las Vegas vacation. Smart travelers visit BeholdLasVegas.com. Talk to our travel agent about inclusive package deals, which will make your Las Vegas trip the time of your life!

What Time of Year Should You Visit Las Vegas?

Best Las Vegas Hotels

When people start to think about an important holiday like a Package Holiday to Las Vegas, they usually want to know when the best time of year is or which season is best to visit in. With any destination around the globe, there are factors that people tend to think about, weather, humidity, how busy it will be and how much it will cost.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

A lot of people think that the weather in Las Vegas is extremely dry and hot, but the truth of the matter is that the weather is very manageable and comfortable as long as you avoid visiting in the middle of the summer. Visiting during March to May will make travelling around the city a lot more pleasant. Most Hotels and Casinos will have climate control and air conditioning which will mean that no matter what the weather is doing outside, you will be able to keep your cool inside.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Sports fans who like to gamble will probably want to take a Las Vegas Holiday during February and March. These are the two biggest months for American sporting fans as the Super Bowl is held in February and the NCAA men's basketball championship is held in March, dubbed March Madness. Large crowds of sporting and gambling fans gather at the casinos to place bets and watch the live events.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

With Las Vegas being such a popular holiday destination, it is busy most of the year, but there are a few times to visit to make some savings on your holiday. Apart from around Christmas and New Year, the winter is quieter than the rest of the year, so you should be able to get some great prices after those big events. The height of summer can be quieter as well, so you may find some bargain holidays around that time of year.

Unless you are heading to Vegas for a specific event or holiday, there are a few dates on the American calendar which mean that tourist destinations get very busy. We are familiar with New Year's Eve and Day, Halloween, Valentine's Day and Christmas Day but the states have some holidays that we are not as familiar with in the UK. Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday is on the third Monday of January, President's Day is on the third Monday of February, Memorial Day is the last Monday in May, Independence Day is July the 4th, Nevada Day is the fourth Friday in October and Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday and Friday in November.

A Las Vegas travel specialist will be able to advise you what time of year is the most cost effective and when you will get the best deals on flights, hotels and packages combining the two.

Las Vegas Western Theme Weddings

Best Las Vegas Hotels

If you have always been cowboys and horses, maybe a western theme wedding and reception is good for you. And marriage is no better place in Las Vegas. How can you make your place, you do not need to hire a wedding planner? Here are some ideas to get started.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Total design. Raises the issue of most western Las Vegas come complete with swinging saloon doors. You can also find the wheel across the room. They also offerCatering, and the staff are dressed in old west costumes. Improve its look with personal items, such as "Wanted" poster with a picture of you and your spouse. Ask the site manager, if you add accessories such as straw bales in the lobby can take to get a "granary", in fact. If you have more time and a bigger budget, because no signs of fun for a saloon, general store, a western bank, a pony-express-office, and a prison?

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Food. Most Las Vegaswestern-style reception venues serve good ol' ribs, steaks, and fried chicken. Ask them to serve side orders such as macaroni and cheese, baked beans, corn and carrots, etc. If you don't want a traditional wedding cake, why not serve pies instead?

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Flowers. After the venue, the next thing you should decide on is flowers. Go for either bluebonnets (the flower of the State of Texas) or sego lilies (Utah). Dominant colors should be yellow orange, and red combined. Blues and greens are also common Western colors.

A cowboy hat can serve as the base for your centerpiece flowers. You can also use cowboy boots as vases! If your budget is limited, then use cheaper potted cacti instead. Lanterns or oil lamps could work, too.

Music. A player-piano would be great. Rent one complete with music scrolls. You can also hire a western singer (in a western get up). If you can stretch the budget, why not hire a square dance caller? Your guests will surely have fun dancing!

Coming Soon - $30 Billion of New Las Vegas Hotels

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Las Vegas has been referred to as one of the modern wonders of the world, and for good reason. Long gone are the days when Vegas was a cheesy sleazy place full of casinos and endless Elvis memorabilia. Today, Vegas is an ultra-modern party town that's rapidly going upmarket, with more attractions per square mile than anywhere else on earth, and hotels and casinos that simply take your breath away.

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Even more remarkable is the sheer scale of redevelopment that's going on within the 3.5 miles of the Las Vegas strip. More than billion is being pumped in to develop new mega hotels that make the existing ones look like sheds. If you've never been to Vegas before, go now to catch a glimpse of the 20th Century Vegas before the 21st Century comes rushing in.

The birth of Las Vegas

Best Las Vegas Hotels

Las Vegas as we know it today can trace its roots back to 1941, when the El Rancho, the Strip's first hotel-casino, opened its doors. The success of the El Rancho spurred the first building-boom on the Strip in the late 1940s and early 1950s, with the construction of legendary casinos such as the Flamingo, Desert Inn, The Sands, The Tropicana and The Stardust, all hastily constructed to capitalize on the massive profits that gambling was bringing into the city. Needless to say these early casinos were owned by the mob, and Vegas well and truly earned its reputation as Sin City.

The 1960s: Howard Hughes and the end of the Mob

The mob's presence in Las Vegas declined with the arrival of Howard Hughes in 1966, who, over the following four years, bought out many of the mobsters. First the Desert Inn, then the Sands and the Frontier, plus several smaller casinos, all fell into the ownership of Hughes. His presence in the city encouraged other legitimate businessmen to follow his lead and also invest in the city. The most prominent was billionaire Kirk Kirkorian, who built the International (now the Las Vegas Hilton) in 1968, followed by the MGM Grand in 1973. Hughes competed furiously with Kirkorian and built the Landmark hotel, a 346 foot monstrosity that took ten years to build, never made any money, but was taller than Kirkorian's International Hotel, which was all Hughes was after.

The 1990s: The rise of the Mega-Resorts

After the opening of the MGM Grand, though, building on the strip stalled. It wasn't until 1986 that work began on the next major new hotel. The Mirage, a 0 million hotel and casino built by Steve Wynn, was a huge gamble as it had to make million a day just to service the debt incurred in building it. However, its opening in 1989 brought huge success, and helped usher in the next great wave of construction to the city: the rise of the Mega-Resorts.

In 1990, Circus Circus Enterprises built the 3,991 room camelot-themed Excalibur hotel at the south of the Strip for 0 million. At the time, the Excalibur was the largest hotel in the world, but this record wouldn't last for long. Just three years later, Kirk Kirkorian, who had sold his existing MGM Grand (which was subsequently renamed Bally's), built another MGM Grand opposite Excalibur with over 5,000 rooms.

1993, the year of the new MGM Grand's opening, was a watershed year for Las Vegas. The Dunes hotel was imploded, Steve Wynn's new 2,885 room Treasure Island hotel was opened, and Circus Circus Enterprises (now called Mandalay Resort Group) opened the new 4,407 room Luxor hotel, designed as a gigantic black hollow pyramid. The era of the themed mega-resort had well and truly arrived in Las Vegas, as these hotels were followed by the Stratosphere, New York New York, Paris and The Venetian, which all opened their doors in the 1990s.

It wasn't just themed resorts that were opening, though. Las Vegas was going upmarket, too, with more exclusive and non-themed hotels, such as Mandalay Bay and the Bellagio, also opening during this period. At .7 billion, Wynn's The Bellagio was the most expensive hotel yet built in Las Vegas, and set the standard for the next construction boom that would begin in the early 2000s.

All this construction had come at a cost to old Las Vegas, though. The Sands was demolished to make way for The Venetian, the Dunes made way for The Bellagio, while the Landmark, Hughes's ill-fated attempt to beat Kirkorian, was demolished to become a car park for the Las Vegas Convention Center. Las Vegas never did do sentimental!

Coming Soon: billion of new Vegas hotels

The five years from 2000 to 2005 saw another brief hiatus in construction. This came to an end in 2005, though, with the opening of the new Wynn Las Vegas, a .7 billion 2,716 room luxury hotel. The Wynn was built on the site of the old Desert Inn, which Wynn had demolished in 2001, just four years after a 0 million renovation and expansion of the old hotel.

The Wynn follows in the footsteps of The Bellagio in being a luxurious high quality hotel. Its success has helped sparked the biggest boom in construction that Las Vegas has ever seen, with the last of the old hotels falling like dominoes, and new super-luxurious multi-billion dollar hotels taking their place. Las Vegas is being transformed like no other city on Earth.

In the two years since the Wynn first opened, five new mega-hotels have begun construction, each of which makes the Wynn look cheap in comparison. Between 2007 and 2010, the following mega-resorts will open:

The Encore at Wynn, a .74 billion 2,054 room sister-hotel to the Wynn that will rise to 653 feet The Palazzo, a .8 billion 3,025 room hotel that will be a sister hotel to The Venetian. With over 7,000 rooms between them, the new Venetian/Palazzo complex will become the biggest hotel in the world Echelon Place, a billion complex of hotels, casinos and condominiums, that's currently being built on the ashes of the old Stardust (which was imploded earlier in 2007) Fontainebleau Las Vegas, a billion hotel being built opposite Circus Circus that will soar 63 stories high Project City Center, a .7 billion complex of hotels comprising over 7,000 hotel rooms, situated between New York New York and the Monte Carlo

These hotels are currently under construction, and will open between early 2008 and 2010. They're by no means the end of the story, though. Hotels that are about to begin construction include The Plaza, a billion hotel that will be built on the site of the New Frontier, which will be imploded later in 2007; and the Crown Las Vegas, a new hotel that will be built next to the Fontainebleau, and which will soar an incredible 1,888 feet. In addition, MGM Mirage, the company behind Project CityCenter, plan to build another mega-resort of similar scale north of Circus Circus, while Steve Wynn has plans to redevelop the golf course sitting behind The Wynn, and turn it into - yes - another multi-billion dollar hotel!

In total, more than billion dollars is being pumped into Las Vegas, making this the biggest construction boom in the city's already stellar history. If you've never been to Las Vegas before, go now to catch a glimpse of 20th Century Vegas before the 21st Century rushes in and transforms it forever.
